Insta pics.

Hi guys, I am back after a quick break from blogging. I must say, I really missed writing here but there were a lot a things going on in my life and I just needed some time off.
Anyways, today I'm posting some of my Instagram pics, to give everyone the chance to check out what I have been up to and since lately I have been addicted to Instagram. Don't forget to follow me @PRETTYPORTOBELLO.

1. Zara and H&M necklaces, mixed together.
2. Yummy and beautiful cupcakes.
3. Having my punk moment with my McQueen bag and Vivienne Westwood boots.
4. Oxford Street all done up for the Queen's Jubilee.
5. Again, it had sold out and I managed to get the last pair of the H&M for water sunglasses. They are fun, aren't they?
6. Peonies are my favourite flowers.
7. A modified Hello Kitty with LineCam. A really cool app, with loads of different effects and stickers to add onto your picture.
8. A huge canvas of a 1st class stamp, made with thousands of stamps itself to form this picture. Held Whitleys shopping centre, to celebrate the Queens Jubilee.

Hope you have enjoyed.
See you soon.

More is more - Mixing necklaces

A quick mix and match here with some of my latest and favourites necklaces. I recently got tree new fantastic necklaces and I loved the idea of mixing them. I wanted that full maxi necklace effect, super Tom Binns inspired and I think now I have just achieved it! It's bold, bulky and blingy, just how I intended.

I combined the H&M necklace with the Zara necklace.

I was so surprised when H&M released this necklace. It was love at first sight when I saw a friend wearing it and by the time I found out where it was from, it had been sold out. I couldn't believe I had missed out on that one and so I had a quick look on Ebay for it but I refused to pay over £30. I was almost giving up when for much of my surprise of course, I came across one on my local H&M. It had been hidden by someone behind many other necklaces and I literally squealed with excitement as I saw it, I couldn't believe what I called my 'bloggers luck' that day. Since this necklace has been advertised as 'the bloggers' favourite and we can clearly see why.

On the other hand, what I had been waiting for, were these necklaces by Zara. I saw them on the Zara lookbook at the beginning of the season and whilst I had been focusing on them so much, with my eyes glues to the website, I (almost) missed out on the H&M ones. These came out in two colours and I bought both. I think I prefer the yellow but I know I would regret not getting the pink. They just came out this week and it was already difficult to get hold of them.

Carrying on matching them... Although I prefer the yellow on yellow combination with the pink necklace, it becomes even more eye catching as the colours are so strong together.

I wanted to try just the Zara necklaces together to see if they would work like that but unfortunately they don't sit that well together within each other.

They will also work really well with some of the rhinestones necklaces that I already have. If you guys remember I had done the same with them in past and the result was terrific.

See you soon.

H&M for Water

H&M for water, is the new H&M Summer collection. I am always excited to have a look at the special H&M collections and collaborations. Since Marni, I think the design and details, including some materials have got much better. So much so, as I said all of them have been catching my eyes. As the collection has just hit the shops, I went down my local H&M to check it out and also take a few snapshots.
This is a super cute 50's inspired collection, with Hawaiian and Tiki influences. Think pin-up and Marilyn Monroe by the beach, I totally loved it.
It's called 'for water' because 25% of the profits will go to projects that supports sustainable water resources for the people and the environment.

I already have my eyes on the sunglasses, I was already waiting for them to be released and the reason why I didn't get them today, was the queue. It was huge and they only had a couple of tills working with a slow service. I just couldn't wait! So, I rather wait another day and go back there when I have some time to spare.

It's a shame but no one can get really inspired about summer clothes when the weather is this bad. Wouldn't you agree?

See you soon.

GlossyBox- Anniversary Box- Revie

This month I received the first anniversary GlossyBox edition. A festive box with a couple of small surprises. Check it out.

Noble Isle, Summer Rising bath & shower gel. (travel size)
This came in very handy just as I needed to buy a new one. It's smells lovely indeed, I just knew that this lovely fragrance was known to me. Yes, it's smells just like Calvin Klein's Truth! CK perfumes are normally great on my skin but not Truth, unfortunately my skin just eats it. So, it's great to have a body wash that smells like that and the good news is that stayed a little bit on my skin too.

Lolita Lempicka - L'Eau en Blanc & Si Lolita perfumes. (sample size)
I really liked L'Eau en Blanc which is a fresh fragrance but then I do like the original Lolita Lempicka and this is a variation of it, limited edition.
I enjoy receiving perfume samples but I personally prefer when they are from a very expensive brand. I would like to try brands such as Kilian, Tom Ford, Frederic Malle and Amouage, I think it's worth it to buy an expensive perfume if it's perfect for you. Unfortunately, most of those expensive brands don't like to give out free samples. It was nice to receive some samples from Serge Lutens in the past so, I think would be ideal for Glossybox to make those expensive samples more available to us.

Apivita, Express beauty facial mask. (sample size)
A double and generous sample which can used twice, totalling in four applications. Mine is the grape mask, an anti-wrinkle and firming mask. I still haven't tried yet though.

HD Eye smoothing serum. (travel size)
It's an anti wrinkle serum to be used twice daily. I am not very keen on the smell which is quite strong and a bit chemical. Normally I would go for oils and natural products since they will be applied around the sensitive eye area. I'm bit sceptical of this but I will try it.

GlossyBox compact mirror.
Came as an extra gift to celebrate the anniversary box. A simple case with a normal mirror and a magnifying one. I will be carrying it around as I don't have any mirrors in my make up case at the moment and let's face it they always come in handy.

Osmo, Berber oil. (travel size)
With Argan oil, it does what every other Argan treatment oil does. It's smells quite chocolaty which is nice and not so heavy smelling like the leading brand of Argan oil. I think the size of this bottle is perfect because I generally use a very tiny amount of it as my hair doesn't need much at all. I am actually overloaded now, as I have a huge bottle of Argan oil from another brand already.

Overall, I really enjoyed the samples I have received this month. They are all easy products that I don't have to incorporate into my routine. Interesting are the combinations of anti wrinkle products I got, not that I really need them yet but let's see if they do make some sort of difference.

See you soon.

Cute phone cases by Iconemesis

The Iphone has always been a winner for the best phone cases, which are an addiction for many of us. I recently got sent a super cute case by Iconemesis, a British brand working alongside famous artists such as Fifi Lapin, Leah Goren and Karin Soderquist to name a few.
I've been following Fifi's blog for some time, she's a very fashionable bunny, so I definitely wanted one of her covers. Fifi Fawn is my favourite because of the huge sunglasses she is wearing, she reminds me of a Hollywood star. In fact, Hello Kitty is already getting very jealous of Fifi but can I do they just as cute as each other.

The hard cases are quite quirky and in house printed. They also fit the phone really well.

Cha-cha-cha- changes. I decided that was about time for me to get new mobile phone. To be honest I was getting very fed up with my Samsung Wave II, which I had for just over a year and it was very slow on the internet and the applications were terrible, there weren't any decent applications to download and forever you had to be paying for stupid and meaningless updates of the Samsung store. The phone itself has potential and the camera is excellent but the OS, which is Bada, is the one of the worst, I've ever had. Hence why I was not Twitting anymore and overall I just getting very frustrated with the whole thing.
So, I decided it was time to move on to get an Iphone, which is fabulous! I can blog on the go which is something I have just started doing and I am also getting addicted on Instagram, follow me @prettyportobello for many daily updates of what is going on.
I'm also being spoiled with the cutest phone cases and couldn't be any happier.

Have a look of some other cute covers from Iconomesis. All priced £24.99

See you soon.
